  • Most people experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. A topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area, making the process more comfortable. However, pain tolerance varies from person to person.

  • The duration can vary depending on the area being treated, but typically, a session lasts between 2 to 3 hours. This includes time for consultation, preparation, and the actual application.

  • Permanent makeup can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Regular touch-ups can help maintain the color and shape.

  • After the procedure, there may be some swelling and redness, which typically subsides within a few days. Healing usually takes about 1 to 2 weeks, and it’s important to follow aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results.

     •    Days 1-2: Brows will look darker and bolder with slight redness.

     •    Days 3-7: Scabbing and flaking begin. Avoid picking to prevent pigment loss.

     •    Days 8-14: Brows may appear lighter or patchy as skin heals.

      •    Weeks 3-4: Color settles and evens out.

Following aftercare is key for proper healing and lasting results.

  • I offer a wide range of colors to suit different skin tones and preferences. During our consultation, we’ll discuss which shades complement your natural features best.

  • The service begins with brow mapping, a precise technique to design a shape that complements your unique facial features. By measuring key points—such as where the brows should start, arch, and end—I create a balanced and symmetrical shape. While natural asymmetries in the face and brows are common, brow mapping allows us to adjust and even them out as much as possible. We discuss the shape as I’m mapping making sure to get feedback and make tweaks according to your personal preference.

  • Yes permanent makeup can be done over previous work but it depends on the color, fading, and condition of the old tattoo. If the previous pigment is too dark or has turned an unwanted shade (blue, red, or gray), color correction or lightening may be needed first. If the existing work is faded enough a skilled artist can reshape and enhance your brows with fresh pigment. A consultation is essential to determine whether a touch-up, correction, or removal is the best approach for you.

  • Yes, but oilier skin types may experience faster pigment fading, especially with microblading. Ombré brows are often a better option for long-lasting results.

  • PMU enhances natural features but may not completely replace traditional makeup. Many clients still use cosmetics for added definition or variety.

  • No, it’s semi-permanent. PMU fades over time due to skin cell regeneration, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors. Results typically last 1-3 years before requiring a touch-up.

PRE CARE

  • Do not drink alcohol or caffeine 24 hrs before and 24 hrs after your treatment. Both alcohol and caffeine are blood thinners and can result in poor pigment retention.

  • Avoid blood-thinning supplements like fish oil, garlic, ginger, ginseng, ginkgo biloba, and vitamin E for at least 7 days before a cosmetic tattoo. They can increase bleeding and affect pigment retention, especially if combined with blood thinners like warfarin or NSAIDs.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin, Midol, Excedrin, and NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for 7 days before and 1 day after your appointment. Use Tylenol instead for pain. If taking Coumadin or Plavix, do not stop them, but be aware of increased bruising risk.

  • Botox, Fillers or Dysport must be done at least 14 days prior to your appointment. It takes 2 weeks to settle in the skin. Receiving either within 14 days of your appointment will result in being sent home and asked to reschedule.

  • Avoid waxing, threading, or tweezing your eyebrows for at least 7 days before your appointment

  • Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments for at least four weeks before your appointment

  • Avoid tanning beds and excessive sun exposure for at least two weeks before your appointment. Avoid sunburned skin.

  • Shower and fix your hair (as you need to take extra care not to get the application area wet for several days).

  • Exposure to sunlight or any other forms of UV/UVA rays are prohibited for 1 month.

  • It is prohibited to apply any makeup (e.g. Eyebrow powder etc.) in the eyebrow area for the next 2 weeks.

  • Do not sleep with face directly on the pillow for a period of 1 week. Accidental pillow contact with the eyebrow in the healing process can remove the pigment in some areas, creating an asymmetrical aspect between the 2 eyebrows.

  • The 2nd microblading session or touchup as it is called is recommended between 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure.

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry for at least 7-10 days to ensure proper healing and pigment retention.

  • Avoid touching, scratching, or picking at any scabs or flaking skin, as this can lead to uneven healing and pigment loss. Use only the recommended aftercare products provided by your technician to keep the area moisturized without over-saturating it.

  • If you have drier skin or if the area feels tight or uncomfortable, you can apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to provide light hydration and relief. Be sure to apply thin layers so the skin can still breathe and heal properly.

  • Avoid excess moisture, including swimming, saunas, hot showers, and sweating, as water exposure can cause pigment fading or blurring. Protect the area from direct sunlight by wearing a hat or applying sunscreen once fully healed to prevent premature fading and color distortion.

POST CARE

More Info

  • Experience & Certifications

    • Choose an artist with specialized training in PMU, microblading, ombré, or combination brows.

    • Verify that they are licensed and certified in your state.

    • Check how long they’ve been practicing and their experience with different skin types.

    Portfolio & Client Results

    • Look at before & after photos of real clients.

    • Make sure their style matches your desired brow look—some artists specialize in bold, defined brows, while others focus on soft, natural results.

    Reviews & Client Feedback

    • Read Google, Yelp, or social media reviews to see what past clients say.

    • Look for consistent positive feedback about skill, professionalism, and cleanliness.

    • Pay attention to any red flags about poor communication or fading issues.

    Sanitation & Safety Standards

    • The artist should follow strict hygiene protocols (wearing gloves, using disposable needles, and maintaining a clean workspace).

    • Ensure they use high-quality, safe pigments that won’t fade to unnatural colors.

    • Ask if they provide a patch test for those with sensitive skin or allergies.

    Consultation Process

    • A great artist will discuss your brow goals, shape preferences, and skin type before starting.

    • They should map out your brows and let you approve the shape before tattooing.

    • You should feel comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns.

    Pigment Selection & Color Matching

    • Your artist should select a custom pigment that complements your natural brow hair and skin tone.

    • They should explain how the pigment will heal and fade over time.

    • Avoid artists who use one-size-fits-all colors that may turn ashy, orange, or too dark.

    Healing & Aftercare Support

    • The artist should provide clear aftercare instructions for the best healing and retention.

    • Ask about their touch-up policy—most require a 6-8 week follow-up session.

    • They should be available for any questions or concerns after the procedure.

    Correction & Removal Options

    • If you have previous work, make sure the artist is experienced in color correction.

    • A reputable artist will be honest if removal is necessary before getting new brows.

    • Avoid anyone who guarantees "permanent" results—brows should fade naturally over time.

    Comfort & Communication

    • You should feel comfortable and confident in your artist’s skills.

    • They should listen to your preferences while also giving professional recommendations.

    • If something feels off, trust your gut—don’t settle for an artist who rushes the process or doesn’t address your concerns.

    • Follow aftercare instructions carefully.

    • Use sunscreen daily to protect against fading.

    • Avoid exfoliating products (retinol, glycolic acid) near the brows.

  • Similar to how paint looks darker when first applied before it dries, pigments appear brighter and more intense immediately after being implanted into the skin. This is due to increased blood flow in the treated area and the presence of liquified pigment particles. As the body absorbs the liquid, the color softens and settles into its final shade.

  • Every face and skin type is unique, so pigment retention varies from person to person. Some skin types absorb pigment more effectively in one session, while others may require additional touch-ups. Fine details, color adjustments, and depth enhancements are best made after the initial healing process. A follow-up appointment is essential to assess the healed results and make any necessary refinements. The second session, included in the initial pricing, ensures the best possible outcome. Most clients need at least two, sometimes three sessions, spaced 4-8 weeks apart, to achieve their desired results.
